Facebook Forum RULES: On our Facebook page, we ask that you show common courtesy, period. No bashing of individuals or agencies. All of us are frustrated with the current situation. If you question whether law enforcement is your friend, you probably need to examine your participation in this group. Agencies and local press have viewing privileges on the Facebook page –conduct yourself accordingly.
Please be courteous to other group members even when you disagree with them. We are all here for the common purpose above. Excessive profanity, slurs and other disrespectful behavior undermines our credibility as a group and will not be tolerated. Failure to treat others on this forum with respect or obviously being at odds with our stated purpose will result in comments being closed and if necessary, your removal by the moderators.
Report What You See
One of the ways that Peak 2 Peak Forest Watch is valuable is by allowing all of its members to keep their eyes out for bad behavior in our forests and mountain towns, and to report that back to our members so that we are aware. Think of it as a neighborhood watch for the entire Peak to Peak region. You can participate, and make this effort stronger, by taking note (and a picture or two, if possible) of any abuses of these environments that you witness as you are out recreating, and filling out the quick and efficient “Report Observation” form on this site. (Vital details are date, time, location and what you saw).
What happens to the information you submit? First, a detailed weekly report is compiled and sent to local law enforcement, open space and U.S. Forest Service personnel so that they can act on what falls within their jurisdiction. This effort is also helping to create a database of issues so that we can understand the scope of the problem. Secondly, a report with personal information redacted will be posted back to our members-only Facebook group, and to members who register via this website. When reporting, you have the ability to tell us that you do not want the information in your report to go back to members, but we encourage you to allow its sharing so that we can maintain the function of informing each other for our own safety.
You must register as a member of this website in order to submit a report. That helps us to know that your report is relevant to this area and disallows spam.
